ABOUT DAMON
Helping You Become the Health Detective of Your Own Life
Damon Lee Jones, FDN-P, is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, author, professional keynote speaker, U.S. Air Force veteran, and founder of Purpose Enterprise Group, Inc. Above all, Damon is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a man guided by faith, integrity, and a passion for helping people transform their health.
As Your Fat Loss Health Detective, Damon helps men and women uncover the hidden stressors and lifestyle factors that may be preventing their bodies from releasing stubborn fat, restoring energy, balancing hormones, and achieving lasting health. His work has expanded to include a special passion for helping women navigating menopause—especially women who have been struggling with symptoms, searching for answers, and feeling dismissed or unheard. And that part of his mission is deeply personal.
MY WHY IS PERSONAL
My desire to help women through menopause didn't begin with a business strategy. It began with my wife. Watching my wife navigate her own health journey opened my eyes to something I believe far too many women experience. She was doing what she was supposed to do. She was trying to take care of herself. She was asking questions. She was looking for answers. Yet there were moments when she felt like her symptoms were being minimized, misunderstood, or simply accepted as something she was supposed to live with because she was getting older.
And I watched. I watched the woman I love experience changes in her body that affected how she felt, how she slept, her energy, and her quality of life. I watched her search for answers. And I realized something: There are countless women going through the same thing. Women who have been told: "That's just menopause."
"That's just aging."
"Your labs are normal."
"You'll have to live with it."
But what happens when a woman knows something isn't right? What happens when she doesn't feel like herself anymore? What happens when she keeps asking questions but doesn't feel heard? She deserves to be heard. She deserves to understand what questions to ask. She deserves to become an informed participant in her own healthcare journey. And that became one of the driving forces behind my mission.
FOR THE WOMAN WHO HAS BEEN TOLD, "IT'S JUST MENOPAUSE"
Menopause is not simply a word on a medical chart. For many women, it can represent a profound transition involving changes in hormones, sleep, energy, body composition, mood, digestion, temperature regulation, and overall well-being. And while every woman's experience is different, one thing should never be dismissed: How she feels. I want to help women become better detectives of their own health. Not by diagnosing them. Not by promising to cure them. Not by telling them to ignore their physicians. But by helping them understand the clues their bodies may be providing and giving them better questions to take into conversations with qualified healthcare professionals. My goal is simple: Help her stop feeling like her body has betrayed her—and start understanding that her symptoms may be clues worth investigating. Because she isn't crazy. She isn't weak. She isn't failing. And she shouldn't have to suffer silently.
YOUR BODY IS GIVING YOU CLUES
My message is simple: Your body isn't broken. It's sending clues. Whether you're struggling with stubborn fat, fatigue, poor sleep, digestive problems, stress, metabolic challenges, or hormone-related changes associated with menopause, your symptoms are information. Through functional lab testing, lifestyle assessments, nutrition, and personalized wellness strategies, I help clients investigate the patterns that may be influencing how they feel. Instead of simply asking: "How do I lose weight?" We begin asking better questions:
What's happening beneath the surface?
What could be contributing to these symptoms?
What patterns are my body showing me?
What questions should I be asking my healthcare provider?
What can I do to better support my body?
That's the heart of becoming The Health Detective of Your Own Life.
A QUESTION THAT CHANGED THE WAY I SEE HEALTH
One of the Scriptures that deeply influences my mission is found in John 5:6–9 (ESV):
6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to get well?” 7 The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another, steps down before me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” 9 And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.
This passage speaks deeply to my mission because Jesus asked a powerful question:
"Do you want to get well?"
That question isn't simply about physical healing. It challenges us to examine where we are, recognize that change is possible, and be willing to take the next step. For many people struggling with their health, the journey can feel much like the man in this passage. They have struggled for years. They have tried diets, programs, medications, workouts, supplements, and quick fixes. They may feel frustrated, confused, and exhausted. And sometimes they simply want someone to listen. But what if the journey begins with a different question? What if your body is giving you clues? That question is at the heart of my work. I cannot promise to heal anyone. Healing ultimately belongs to God. But I can educate, encourage, investigate the clues, and equip people with practical strategies that may help them better support their body's natural processes. And sometimes the next step is simply: Get up. Take up your bed. And walk.
I KNOW THIS JOURNEY BECAUSE I'VE LIVED IT
My passion for helping people achieve lasting fat loss didn't begin in a textbook. It began with my own struggle. In my 20s, I was fit, active, and confident in my health. But through my 30s and 40s, I found myself overweight, frustrated, and searching for answers. Like many people, I believed the solution was simple: Eat less. Exercise more. Try harder. But despite my efforts, something wasn't adding up. Eventually, I discovered that lasting fat loss isn't simply about calories, willpower, or working harder. It's about understanding how the body functions and investigating the factors that may be preventing it from thriving. After losing 86 pounds and transforming my own health, I discovered a truth that changed everything:
You don't lose fat to get healthy. You get healthy—and your body has the ability to release fat.
That transformation led me to become a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. Today, I use that experience to help others stop guessing and start investigating.
WHY WOMEN IN MENOPAUSE ARE PART OF MY MISSION
My wife's experience changed the way I see menopause. It showed me that behind every symptom is a person. Behind every lab result is a woman. Behind every appointment is someone who wants to be heard. And behind every question is often a woman simply saying: "I don't feel like myself anymore. Can someone please help me understand why?" That's the woman I want to help. The woman who has tried to lose the weight that suddenly seems impossible to lose. The woman who isn't sleeping like she used to. The woman experiencing changes she doesn't understand. The woman whose body seems unfamiliar. The woman who keeps hearing: "It's just menopause." I want to help her ask: "What else should we investigate?" My role is not to replace her physician or tell her what medical treatment she should receive. My role is to help her become more informed, understand the health clues she is seeing, and become a stronger advocate for herself. Because women deserve to be heard. And sometimes, having someone finally say, "Let's look at the clues," can change the entire conversation.
SOLVING THE MYSTERY BEHIND STUBBORN FAT
Many people come to me saying: "I've tried everything." "Nothing works." "I'm doing everything right." "My metabolism is broken." "Maybe it's just my age." "Maybe menopause ruined me." But what if stubborn fat isn't the enemy?
What if it's a clue?
As Your Fat Loss Health Detective, I help clients investigate factors that may be influencing metabolism, energy, digestion, sleep, stress, hormones, and overall wellness. Through functional lab testing, lifestyle assessments, nutrition strategies, and personalized wellness support, I help connect the dots and identify areas worth exploring.
LOOKING BEYOND THE SCALE
As an FDN-P, I don't diagnose, treat, or cure disease. Instead, I use functional wellness principles and health-focused assessments to help people better understand their health patterns and become more informed participants in their healthcare. Many people are told their labs are "normal," yet they continue experiencing stubborn weight, fatigue, digestive issues, poor sleep, stress, or hormone-related challenges. My role is to help investigate the clues. By exploring areas such as stress resilience, digestion, blood sugar regulation, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle habits, and other relevant factors, I help clients better understand their unique health story and develop practical strategies to discuss with and incorporate alongside appropriate professional medical care.
MORE THAN FAT LOSS—IT'S ABOUT MORE LIFE
Fat loss isn't just about a number on a scale. It's about having the energy to enjoy your spouse. Your children. Your grandchildren. Your calling. Your purpose. And the life God has entrusted to you. It's about creating more memories and being present for the moments that matter. That's why this work means so much to me. Because I've experienced my own transformation. I've watched someone I love navigate the challenges of menopause. And I've seen how frustrating it can be when someone doesn't feel heard. I don't want women to simply accept that they have to feel miserable because they're getting older. I want them to understand their bodies, ask better questions, advocate for themselves, and pursue appropriate support.
MY MISSION
My mission is bigger than fat loss. It's about helping people become the Health Detective of Their Own Life. For the man who has tried everything. For the woman who doesn't recognize her body anymore. For the woman navigating menopause and wondering why nobody seems to understand what she's experiencing. For the person who has been told everything is "normal" but knows something feels different. For the person who is tired of blaming themselves. I want to help you investigate the clues. Not guess. Not blindly chase another quick fix. Not give up. Investigate. Understand. Ask better questions. Take the next step.
MY PROMISE TO YOU
I don't believe in quick fixes. I don't believe in extreme approaches. I don't believe you should be defined by your weight, your age, or your symptoms. I believe your body is communicating with you. And sometimes, the first step toward change is learning how to listen. My commitment is to educate, encourage, and equip you with practical, science-informed strategies that help you better understand your health and work alongside appropriate healthcare professionals. Because when you uncover the clues, address the foundations, and support your body appropriately—
lasting transformation becomes possible.
And perhaps one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves is the question Jesus asked:
"Do you want to be made well?"
My answer is yes. And my mission is to help others discover what their next step can be. Especially the woman who has spent too long feeling unheard. Especially the woman who just wants to feel like herself again. Especially because I know her journey is personal. I've watched the woman I love walk through it. And that's why I'm here.
